My father taught me that when you’re doing bodywork on a car, you try as hard as you can to make it perfectly waterproof.
But he also taught me that no matter how hard you try, it’s not going to be perfect. Water is going to get in, so you always leave holes for it to drain out as well.

So many of the things I’m dissatisfied with in my life remain dissatisfying because I don’t ask others for what I need. I don’t because I’m too…what? Shy, polite, ashamed, respectful, timid, fearful, insecure, etc, etc.
Well, whatever it is, I need to get over it. It’s bad enough I’ve spent my life to this point not asking for what I want. It would be more of a tragedy if I spent the rest of my life not doing so.
